The SWARM project objectives are to design and build a complete solution for real time monitoring of water resources.

Two main deliverables are expected: (1) a wireless multi-parameter probe network including a grid of biochemical detectors (2) a data collection and treatment system to provide decision support tools. The sensor cost will be divided by 10 compared to the existing and the maintenance cost also decreased. Issues to be addressed are: energy autonomy, wireless communication, low cost design.
